Living in Worcester

Living in Worcester

The bustling city centre has a variety of independent shops, bars and restaurants including Cathedral Plaza. As an ever-improving city, there is another major regeneration of Worcester’s city centre set to go ahead, bringing further housing and businesses to the area. Worcester is home to our award winning, architecturally outstanding library called The Hive, which was opened by Her Majesty the Queen in 2012.

The city is steeped in history something which is apparent within its many period buildings and landmarks throughout. Worcester was also a big part of the Civil War and you can even eat in a pub once occupied by royalty! King Charles II escaped his enemies from what is now known as King Charles House after the Battle of Worcester on September 3, 1651. Some say this is when Worcester gained its nickname, ‘The Faithful City’ originating from the Latin ‘Civitas Fidelis’.

Education

Education

Schooling within the county is vast and diverse with Ofsted-rated outstanding primary schools, secondary schools and academies offering top-class education. Worcester is also home to many leading independent Schools including The Royal Grammar School and Kings School Worcester providing academic excellence.

Worcester has changed a lot in recent years becoming one of the most popular places to live in the country with an ever-growing selection of bars and restaurants. The shopping isn’t bad either. We think Worcester is the best place to live (we might be biased on that front) and the people living here are second to none, it really is the perfect place to call home.
